The Adamawa Government has relaxed the 24-hour curfew imposed on Mubi town in the past three days.
A statement by Malam Maijama’a Adamu, the Director, Press Affairs to the State Governor, said people could now move from 6 a.m to 3 p.m.
The statement said the movement was however within Mubi town alone, to allow residents make purchases as no movement would be allowed into or out of the town.
It would be recalled that the curfew was imposed by the government to enable security operatives conduct house-to-house searches in some wards.
This had followed series of killings and attacks on communication masts in the commercial town.
The Brigade Commander, 23rd Armour Brigade, Yola, Maj.-Gen. John Nwaoga, while speaking on the security operation in the town, said many arrests had been made.
“Weapons, including guns, ammunitions and explosives, have also been recovered in the on-going exercise,’’ he said.(NAN)
